Microsoft Excel is limited for creativity and design but InDesign can create company branded tables from your Excel tables. By importing and setting up table styles Sarahjane can quickly change many tables to look the consistent e.g. the same colour and fonts. They can also flow neatly from page to page. Tables are a fantastic way to layout lots of data neatly.

Spider graphs for a legal report created by remote Freelance Artworker

Sarahjane artwork report data as a spider graph and a radar chart

Graphs are easy for Sarahjane to design using Illustrator and them imported into an InDesign report layout. Using supplied data and her Artworker skills, Sarahjane changes the colour to match the document branding.

This 240 page legal report contained 40 graphs as well as lots of tables. Once the first graph was approved Sarahjane quickly created the rest.

Graphs come in different shapes and can be designed to fit the space available on a page. Working closely with the consultant the report was finish before the deadline.

Student handbook created in InDesign by Freelance Artworker

Designed by the Art Director and finished by Sarahjane Jackson

The Art Director created the design concept and the branding with the college. From this branding Sarahjane created the 44 page Student Handbook and Pre-arrival Handbook as print ready artwork.

The Artwork consisted of setting up InDesign master pages using styles. Collating images and using Photoshop to save them as print ready. Changes and amends where added to the PDF proofs by the college and Sarahjane completed these to reach the final version.

Text heavy craft manuals InDesign layout

Using Designer corporate branding and guidelines

Sarahjane took on the mammoth text heavy layout project in InDesign of EDF’s craft manuals. Eight manuals in total with around 600 pages long each. The original 1970’s manuals where scanned into word files then Sarahjane imported them into InDesign. Using styles she made from the corporate branding and guidelines to create a consistent document.
